hmmm....i was missing abalones for a while. Was dreaming
about it but never buy even a can.
Was remembering a Chinese new Year, visit a friend at his house
and his mother prepared plain porridge, and a can of abalone, the
abalone boiled in its canning juice and sliced thinly.
It adds a slight different dimension eaten with plain porridge,
preserved chai xin (those glass bottles kind) & a sunny side up
egg.
My downstairs hawker centre got a stall sells soup, and their
'fuo tiao chiang' is quite good. S$10 for a dish of baby
abalones, scallops, meat & mushroom.
